Fashion icon and activist Vivienne Westwood is known for promoting environmental protection through her collections. Thereby, provoking people's attention in order to create change. Rebellious PR stunts and bold calls for animal, climate and nature protection measures in the form of lettering on her celebrated high-end pieces are inevitably associated with the infamous fashion designers. As a consequence, her latest project "Save Our Oceans" clearly shows the DNA of the grand dame of sustainable fashion.
Vivienne Westwood x Eastpak: Save Our Oceans
In her current collaboration, the Briton has teamed up with the US backpack and travel accessories provider Eastpak. The joint project "Save Our Oceans" aims to raise awareness for plastic pollution in the oceans in order to free them from this condition. In the name of sustainability, the collection is made from recycled plastics which previously polluted our seas.

The collection consists of 5 different bag models. These range from small shoulder bags like "The One" and "Bane" over a travel trolley called "Tranverz S" to the iconic Eastpack backpack shapes "Jessica" and "Padded".
In terms of design, Westwood's autumn / winter "Propaganda" collection from 2005 is celebrating a comeback: every model bears the "Sea Creatures" print. A print that is inspired by 19th century marine illustrations and thematically unmistakably refers to our oceans. In addition, the collaboration focuses on the visualization of a clear message: the core message "Save Our Oceans" adorns every bag in bold letters.
In keeping with the statement pieces that demand environmental protection, the main fabric, lining, belt and logos are each made of recycled PET. Explicit: From recycled waste from the oceans. The sustainable approach is rounded off by durable zippers, threads and fittings.
Since the beginning of November, the complete Vivienne Westwood x Eastpak collection has been available in exclusively selected retail outlets as well as in the Eastpak webshop.
