Corporate Social Responsibility rating

Since 15 years the Top 100 global companies (Annual revenue more than 1 billion USD) based on their CSR, meaning sustainability, rated and ranked. The ranking is analyzed and published by the Canadian financial information company and magazine "Corporate Knights", which focuses on sustainability. The valuation methodology is based on up to 21 Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Resource Management, Leadership, Financial Management, Supplier Performance, and Clean Revenue. The latter are revenues from the segments Clean Transition, CO2 Reduction and Circular Economy, which were weighted for the first time with 50% this year.

Top 3 of the ranking

The Danish company is in first place Chr. Hansen Holding. A global bioscience group that develops natural solutions for the food, nutrition, pharmaceutical and agricultural industries. Chr. Hansen achieved a score of 100% on the Clean Revenue indicator, which means that the company's products have clear ecological and social advantages.

The French Kering Group, which owns Gucci, Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent, among others, is in second place in the ranking. Kering places great value on sustainability and gets 2% of its resources from sustainable sources. In addition, 40% of the board members are women, ie more than 60% higher than the average for similarly sized corporations.

The Finnish mineral oil refinery Neste Corporation ranks 3rd. The company is shifting its focus more and more from fossil fuels to renewable biofuels and 50% of its profits come from biofuels businesses.

German companies in the ranking

Five German groups are among the top 100 companies for corporate social responsibility. Siemens AG in 28th place, Commerzbank and Osram AG in 67th and 77th place, and the Adidas sports brand in 84th place. Bayerische Motoren Werke BMW has fallen from 2018th place to 17th place in 99 and is ahead of its competitors Tesla and Toyota obsolete. See the entire here List.
