The Green Product Award 2025 honors outstanding products and concepts in 14 different categories that cover the broad spectrum of sustainable product development:

Within each category, an international jury will award the best product from an established brand or a start-up, as well as the best concept as part of the accompanying Green Concept Award. In addition, the most popular product and the most popular concept will be chosen for the Audience Award.

Evaluation Criteria

In each of the categories, the submitted projects are evaluated based on three main subject-specific criteria:

  • design: Aesthetic and functional design plays an important role. Innovative design, intuitive usability and consideration of ecological and economic aspects in the overall concept are evaluated here. The quality of communication with consumers also plays an important role
  • innovation: This point examines the degree of innovation of the product or service. What is important in the assessment is whether the new invention is relevant and solves problems significantly better than alternatives currently available on the market.
  • Sustainability: Here the entire lifecycle of the product or service, from raw material extraction through production and use to disposal or recycling. Particular attention is paid to the use of environmentally friendly materials, energy-efficient production processes and the promotion of circular economy.

In addition to these subject-specific criteria, the jury also takes into account overarching aspects such as originality, Scalability, quality of the elaboration and type of implementation as well as the potential for a positive impact on the environment and/or society. This ensures that the award-winning products and services are not only innovative, but also practical and sustainable.

Application process for the Green Product Award 2025

Participation in the Green Product Award 2025 is open to companies of all sizes, start-ups and designers. The application process is deliberately transparent and accessible in order to capture a wide range of innovations. Interested parties can easily apply via the Website of the Green Product Award. In order to be able to hold the award at a demanding level, participation fees are charged for established companies and start-ups, with the latter benefiting from reduced rates. Students and graduates can participate free of charge.

The application period for the Green Product Award 2025 extends over several months to give all interested parties sufficient time to prepare their submissions:

  • 13 December 2024: Deadline for submission of entries for participants who wish to take part in the public vote
  • 16 December 2024: Start of the public vote
